Pure Poker Tour Launches Seniors-Only Event with $38K Top Prize
The second edition of the Pure Poker Tour (PPT) kicks off on Thursday, May 7. This time, the opening event is reserved for players aged 50 and over, offering a dedicated Seniors competition with a guaranteed prize pool. The Seniors event begins with 25,000 in starting chips and 30-minute levels throughout the day. Unlike standard tournaments, this one will crown a winner on the same day. Players have eight levels to buy in or rebuy, with the final opportunity closing at 5 PM.
The opening day also includes a later game with open entry for all participants. Alek Gillies will cover the event’s early action, arriving around 4 PM to report on the proceedings. The last 50+ tournament in January saw Francis Fan take the top prize, winning nearly $38,000 from the total pool. Organisers have structured the event to encourage early participation while keeping the pace steady. With no multi-day delays, the competition will run until a single champion emerges.
This event marks the start of PPT #2, with a focus on older players for the first time. The tournament’s format ensures a fast and decisive outcome, giving seniors a chance to compete for a significant prize. Reporting and updates will be available from the afternoon onwards.
