BetBlocker launches Serbian app to combat gambling addiction risks

BetBlocker, a charity focused on safer gaming, has launched its responsible gambling app in Serbian. The move aims to support Serbian speakers in managing their betting habits. Around 10 million people worldwide speak Serbian, with 7 million living in Serbia itself. The app’s new language option follows a partnership with Gamblers Connect, an organisation specialising in gambling support. Gjorgje Ristikj, founder of Gamblers Connect, welcomed the collaboration and the Serbian version’s release.

A 2018 study found that 0.5% of Serbians struggle with gambling issues, particularly in sports betting. BetBlocker’s founder, Duncan Garvie, highlighted the importance of offering the app in users’ native languages to maximise accessibility. The charity recently expanded into the US, where it plans to provide support in English, Spanish, and Chinese. Garvie expressed hope that the app would help tens of thousands of Americans manage their gambling. The Serbian version now extends this support to a wider audience.

The app is now available to Serbian speakers, helping them control their gambling behaviours. With millions of potential users, the expansion aligns with BetBlocker’s goal of providing responsible gaming tools in multiple languages. The partnership with Gamblers Connect strengthens its reach in the region.
