Phenom Poker Debuts Open-Face Chinese Poker After Beta Success
Phenom Poker has officially launched Open-Face Chinese Poker after a successful beta testing phase. The game is a unique poker variant where players compete for points rather than betting chips. Open-Face Chinese Poker is a set-building game where each player constructs three separate poker hands. These are arranged in three rows: a three-card Top hand, a five-card Middle hand, and a five-card Bottom hand. The key rule is that each row must be stronger than the one above it.
The game begins with the Initial Deal, where players receive five cards. They must place all five face up into their three hands. Following this, the Placement Rounds start, with each player getting three new cards per turn. From these, they choose two to add to their hands and discard one. This continues until all hands are complete.
Points are awarded based on hand strength, with bonuses for winning individual rows. A player who wins all three rows in a single round earns a three-point Sweep Bonus. Unlike traditional poker, no chips are wagered—instead, the focus is purely on strategy and scoring.
Phenom Poker’s rules page provides additional details, including variations of the game. Andrew Yeh, a representative from the platform, stated that their aim is to create a space where players can enjoy a wide range of poker games. The launch of Open-Face Chinese Poker adds a fresh twist to the poker scene. Players can now test their skills in a points-based format without the pressure of betting. More information on rules and variants is available on Phenom Poker’s official page.
