Gaming industry donates $180K to combat problem gambling research
A donation of $180,000 has been made to the International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG) by leading gaming industry organisations. The funds were presented at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) and will support research into problem gambling. The contribution brings the total raised through the AGEM & AGA Golf Classic to over $2.6 million.
The donation came from the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM), the American Gaming Association (AGA), and JCM Global (JCM). It was raised at the 24th AGEM & AGA Golf Classic, an event sponsored by JCM Global. The funds will directly support ICRG’s research programmes focused on understanding and addressing gambling-related harm.
Daron Dorsey, Executive Director of AGEM, attended the presentation at G2E. He was joined by Dave Kubajak, Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Operations at JCM. Both representatives highlighted the industry’s commitment to funding responsible gaming initiatives. The Golf Classic has become a key fundraising event for the sector. Over its 24-year history, it has now raised more than $2.6 million for responsible gaming research and education.
The $180,000 donation will help expand ICRG’s research into problem gambling. The funds add to a long-standing effort by gaming industry leaders to promote safer gambling practices. The total raised through the Golf Classic continues to grow each year.
