Wayne Hoffert claims seventh poker win with bold late-game deal
Wayne Hoffert has secured his seventh live poker victory after exiting a PKO event with the largest stack. The win follows his previous success at the 2019 Fall Super Stack at Deerfoot. This latest result pushes his career earnings close to $200,000 on the Hendon Mob rankings. The event took an unusual turn when Hoffert and Todd Oakley agreed to leave the game late in the tournament. Both players walked away with $2,719 each from the shared prize pool. However, Oakley also collected $3,400 in bounty cash, bringing his total winnings to $6,119.
Hoffert, holding the biggest stack at the time, was declared the official winner. His bounty earnings added $2,100 to his prize, resulting in a total of $4,819. Earlier in the competition, Alexandre Fortin finished third, taking home $1,642, while Corey Arsenault placed fourth, earning $1,077.
The victory marks Hoffert’s seventh recorded live poker win. His total career earnings now stand just under $200,000. The decision to end the event early allowed both top players to secure their payouts without further play.
