Spring Super Stack 2026 delivers high-stakes poker drama in Calgary

The 2026 Spring Super Stack at Deerfoot Inn & Casino in Calgary, Alberta, has wrapped up its first four events. Players competed across different formats, with notable wins and growing prize pools. Two more starting flights remain for one of the tournament’s largest fields so far.

The series began with a PLO Double Board Bomb Pot event on Thursday. It drew 62 entries and awarded $23,560 in prizes. Peter Darlington took first place, marking his sixth live tournament victory and fourth in a PLO format.

On Friday, the PKO side game attracted 76 players, building a prize pool of $21,660. Wayne Hoffert emerged as the winner, securing his seventh live title. This victory was his first since the 2019 Fall Super Stack and pushed his career earnings on the Hendon Mob database to just under $200,000. Meanwhile, the Deepstack event has seen strong turnout across two starting flights. A total of 223 entries have already generated $63,555 in prizes. Organisers will run one final Day 1 on Saturday before the field combines for Day 2.

The Spring Super Stack continues with more events ahead. Hoffert and Darlington have added to their records, while the Deepstack tournament still has room for more players. The series at Deerfoot Inn & Casino runs until all scheduled games complete.
