Ian Cohen triumphs at 2026 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown

Ian Cohen has won the 2026 World Poker Tour (WPT) Seminole Hard Rock Showdown, taking home $645,800 and a seat at the WPT World Championship. The final table also featured former NFL star Richard Seymour, who finished second for his best-ever poker result. The heads-up battle kicked off with Cohen holding a narrow chip advantage over Seymour. Earlier in the day, Seymour had fought back from being the shortest stack, doubling his chips through Cohen in a crucial early hand.

The tournament concluded when Cohen’s pair of tens beat Seymour’s pocket nines in the final showdown. Seymour, a three-time Super Bowl champion, still secured $430,000—the largest poker payday of his career. The full payouts for the final table were as follows: Michael Amato took third for $320,000, Frank Funaro fourth for $240,000, Johnny Bromberg fifth for $181,000, and Raj Vohra sixth for $164,000.

Cohen’s win more than doubled his previous career earnings, which stood at $573,000 before this event. Seymour, despite falling short, achieved his highest-ever poker tournament score. Both players now turn their attention to future events, with Cohen set to compete in the WPT World Championship.
