Embarking on an ambitious journey fraught with mythical sea beasts, treacherous lootings, and the quest to dominate the high seas, Ubisoft Singapore's premiere venture into major game development, Skull And Bones, sets sail. After an arduous voyage spanning over a decade since its inception in 2013, the game made its grand debut on platforms including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on February 16.

Supported by the Economic Development Board (EDB) since 2016, Ubisoft Singapore ventured into the creation of this "AAA" title, a category reserved for games with substantial budgets and expectations, akin to the gaming world's equivalents of blockbusters like Grand Theft Auto and Assassin's Creed.

The genesis of Skull And Bones traces back to the acclaim of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, inspiring the team to develop its original intellectual property. Despite the game's promising premise, its journey to launch was anything but smooth, marked by multiple delays, a comprehensive reboot, and the departure of three creative directors, all contributing to its storied development process.

As Skull And Bones finally unfurls its sails, its release not only marks a significant chapter in Ubisoft Singapore's history but also signals a new era for the gaming industry in Singapore, showcasing the city-state's potential as a hub for major game development.
