Teo Sanchez claims back-to-back victory in high-stakes poker showdown

Teo Sanchez has claimed his second live tournament victory in the same event, repeating last spring’s success. The win came after a dominant performance, with Sanchez controlling most of the final table action from a large stack.

Sanchez entered the heads-up round with a clear advantage over Mal Hagan. His aggressive style steadily chipped away at Hagan’s chips, even as the opponent struggled to find strong hands for a stretch.

Hagan fought back at one stage, doubling up to narrow the gap. But Sanchez maintained pressure, eventually eliminating all opponents in the money rounds. The final hand unfolded in a four-card showdown. Hagan held aces, while Sanchez turned over A♦ J♥ 8♠ 6♥. A straight to the queen on the board sealed Hagan’s fate, handing Sanchez the title. This victory marks Sanchez’s second in the event, following his heads-up win over Skyler York last spring. He also finished runner-up in the Summer series, losing only to Julius Roque.

The tournament ended with Sanchez once again at the top, reinforcing his strong record in this event. His consistent deep runs and ability to close out heads-up play have made him a repeat champion.
