Omsk's Green Marathon unites runners for fitness, charity and community

The Green Marathon in Omsk is set to bring people together for a day of running, socialising, and charity. Organisers have planned a mix of races, family-friendly activities, and entertainment in the city centre. Registration remains open until May 25, with options for distances from 4.2 km to 10 km. The event aims to blend fitness with face-to-face interaction, offering an alternative to digital communication. Many participants view it as a rare chance to meet outside work, given busy schedules and packed routines. Children’s races, inclusive starts, and interactive zones will feature alongside a stage programme.

Sber is supporting the marathon by matching funds raised through voluntary donations. The proceeds will go to the Vklad v Buduscheye foundation, which funds programmes for children and teenagers. Natalia Korneva, head of Sber’s Omsk branch, highlighted that the marathon’s social mission resonates with runners looking to combine charity with personal connections.

Participants also see the race as a way to spend time with family and friends. The city-centre location and varied distances make it accessible for all ages and fitness levels. The Green Marathon offers a mix of exercise, charity, and socialising in one event. With registration open until May 25, organisers expect strong turnout for both the races and accompanying activities. All donations will support youth programmes through Sber’s matched funding.
