Botswana's Gambling Authority Celebrates 10 Years with School Uniform Donations

The Gambling Authority of Botswana has marked its 10th anniversary with a community-focused initiative. The organisation donated brand-new school uniforms to underprivileged students in the Chobe District. This effort reflects its ongoing commitment to social responsibility beyond the gaming sector. Founded a decade ago, the Authority has promoted responsible gambling through principles like 'mindful spins' and 'fair play'. Its work has centred on maintaining integrity within the industry while also addressing broader societal needs.

To celebrate its milestone, the Authority partnered with the Chobe District community to sew uniforms for students facing financial hardship. The goal was simple: keep children warm and in school by removing barriers caused by poverty. An official handover event took place, where district leaders received the uniforms on behalf of the students.

The donation aligns with this year’s anniversary theme of Community Care. By supporting education, the Authority demonstrated its belief in giving opportunities to those less fortunate. This initiative underscores its dual focus on industry regulation and national well-being. The uniform donation highlights the Authority’s expanding role in Botswana’s social development. Over the past ten years, it has balanced industry oversight with community support. Moving forward, its efforts will continue to bridge responsible gambling with wider societal contributions.
