NFL slot machines hit casinos this fall after league's gambling U-turn

NFL-themed slot machines will arrive in casinos this autumn after years of resistance from the league. Aristocrat Gaming is putting the final touches on the product, which has already sparked strong interest. The move marks a major shift in the NFL’s approach to gambling partnerships. The NFL once avoided ties to gambling, but its position has changed in recent years. Nationwide betting expansion and public funding for Allegiant Stadium helped soften the league’s stance. Las Vegas has since hosted two Pro Bowls, the NFL Draft, and will stage Super Bowl LVIII in 2024.

Aristocrat Gaming has been refining the slot machines based on player feedback. Fans can even customise their own version through an interactive questionnaire on the company’s website. Marketing director Mark Wadley expects high demand for the NFL-branded slots, though the exact number of locations remains undecided.

Promotion is already underway, with ads displayed on the largest media screen on the east side of Allegiant Stadium. The launch this fall will coincide with the peak of the football season, giving casinos a fresh attraction for fans. The NFL slots represent a new revenue stream for both the league and casinos. Aristocrat Gaming’s collaboration with the NFL reflects broader acceptance of gambling in professional sports. The machines will debut as football’s popularity continues to grow across the US.
