Event #12: $560 Megastack ($500 + $60)

Megastack poker tournament returns with high stakes and late registration

The second of three multi-day games kicks off on Wednesday with Day 1a of the Megastack. For $560, players get 30k in chips, with 40-minute levels throughout the game.

Entries are open for 12 levels of poker on each starting day. Including breaks, that should put the end of entries at about 9:30 PM for both starting flights.

Once entries are closed, they'll play down to 10% of the starting field before Day 1 ends, and all players who make Day 2 are guaranteed a payout. However, note that if there are multiple busts on the final hand of Day 1, such that fewer than 10% of players survive, the Day 1 busts will not be part of the payouts; Players MUST bag chips for Day 2 to get a piece of the prizes.

Last Spring, Michael Baldwin was on top of a three-way chop in this game. He split the top prizes with Tony Ma & JJ Johnstone over a field of 280 for $133k in prizes. Meanwhile, the Summer version of this game drew 410 entries for prizes of $194,740. Jerry Li took the win after a three-way chop, including Eric Wasylenko & Zhi Jiang.
