WSOP Legends: How Hellmuth, Ivey, and Jackie Chan Dominate Poker History

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has seen legendary players dominate its history, with records that stretch across decades. Among them, Phil Hellmuth stands out as the most decorated, holding 17 bracelets—a total far beyond any rival. Other icons like Phil Ivey, Erik Seidel, and Jackie Chan have also left their mark with multiple wins and consistent performances at the highest level.

Recent years have added new chapters, with Michael Mizrachi securing his fourth $50,000 Poker Players Championship title and Daniel Negreanu claiming his seventh bracelet in 2024.

Phil Hellmuth remains the undisputed leader in WSOP history. His 17 bracelets include the 1989 Main Event, and he holds records for the most final table appearances (7) and cashes (197). Remarkably, he has won gold in five different decades, with his latest victory in 2023—34 years after his first.

Phil Ivey follows in second place with 11 bracelets, all earned since 2000. His consistency has made him one of the most dominant players of the modern era. Meanwhile, Erik Seidel and Jackie Chan share third place, each with 10 bracelets. Seidel holds the second-most final table appearances (54) and cashes (145), while Chan famously won back-to-back Main Events in 1987 and 1988.

Chris Ferguson, despite stepping away from live poker after COVID, has six bracelets, including the 2000 Main Event, and was named 2017 Player of the Year. Daniel Negreanu, a two-time Player of the Year, added his seventh bracelet in 2024 by winning the $50,000 Poker Players Championship. Shaun Deeb, another two-time Player of the Year, is now approaching Hellmuth’s cash record.

Michael Mizrachi made history by winning the $50,000 Poker Players Championship for a record fourth time. His achievements earned him a special induction into the Poker Hall of Fame, further cementing his legacy.

The WSOP’s all-time leaders continue to set benchmarks that few can match. Hellmuth’s 17 bracelets remain untouched, while Ivey, Seidel, and Jackie Chan maintain their positions among the greats. Recent wins by Mizrachi and Negreanu show that even in a new era, the competition at the highest level remains fierce. These players have shaped poker history with performances that define excellence in the game.
