WPT Wildcard Launches Unpredictable Poker for Social Media Fans

The World Poker Tour (WPT) has launched a new poker brand called WPT Wildcard, designed for social media audiences and unconventional gameplay. The first events will take place in October at the Lodge Card Club in Austin, Texas, as part of the WPT Prime festival.

WPT Wildcard focuses on streaming, short-form content, and engaging viewers with unpredictable twists. CEO Adam Pliska described the brand as offering 'a regularly occurring slate of unpredictable gameplay environments' tailored for content creators and their communities.

The first event, Heart Attack Poker, will feature live-streamed cash games on October 8. Players will wear heart rate monitors, adding a physical element to the competition.

On October 12, the Mystery Bounty Wildcard Chao event will introduce random power-ups and penalties. These include Respawn, Table Swap, New River, Bounty Forfeit, and Button Ban. The tournament has a $300 buy-in and a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool.

After the Austin debut, WPT Wildcard plans to expand to other WPT stops worldwide in the future.

The Lodge Card Club will host both events, marking the start of WPT Wildcard's push into interactive poker entertainment. The brand aims to blend traditional poker with digital engagement, targeting online audiences through live streams and social media.
