Vusi Mtsweni Appointed to Key Global Gaming Regulatory Bodies

Vusi Mtsweni, CEO of Mpumalanga Economic Regulator (MER), has been recognised for his leadership in responsible gaming. He has been appointed to key international bodies, boosting Africa's role in global gaming regulation.

Mtsweni's influence has grown with his appointment to the African Lotteries & Gaming Association (ALGA) CEO's Forum Steering Committee. This role acknowledges MER's expanding impact on responsible gaming policy and practice across Africa.

His influence extends globally. Mtsweni has been elected to the International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR) Board of Trustees, representing the African region. This appointment was confirmed during the organisation's Annual Business Meeting in Toronto, Canada. Mtsweni will attend the IAGR2025 Conference in Toronto as Africa's representative, further strengthening ties between African and international gaming regulators.

Mtsweni's appointments to ALGA and IAGR will foster cross-border collaboration and knowledge-sharing among regulators. They reflect MER's commitment to modernising regulatory systems and promoting responsible gaming practices under Mtsweni's leadership.
