Viersen's Cultural Scene Booms with New City-Funded Projects
Viersen's cultural scene is flourishing with two new projects receiving city funding this year. The 'Free Scene' initiative supports local artists and associations, fostering creativity and public participation in arts.
One of the funded projects is a mobile art installation by Renate Ettl and Emil Schult, set to be installed in the Lichtturm of the city library Viersen. This interactive piece encourages public engagement with art.
The other funded project is a gospel sing-along workshop 'Sound of Heaven' led by the SΓΌchteln choir 'Joy & Piece'. The workshop is open to the public, promoting community involvement in the arts.
Looking ahead, Viersen has initiated the art project support 'Stadtbesetzung' for 2026, themed 'Parkplatz-Kunst'. This project aims to transform parking lots into artistic spaces, further enriching the city's cultural landscape.
