Underdog Daniel Hunt stuns PokerGO Cup with $1M all-in bluff win

A dramatic showdown unfolded at the 2025 PokerGO Cup High Roller event between amateur player Daniel Hunt and opponent Dieu Thi. The $1,000,000 clash ended with Hunt securing a surprising victory after calling an all-in with a weaker starting hand.

Before the tournament, Hunt worked as a real estate agent in Houston, Texas. His win marked a major turning point in the competition.

The decisive hand began when 28-year-old Hunt, seated in middle position, pushed all in for 183,000. Dieu Thi, in the big blind, called the bet with A♠ 7♣, dominating Hunt’s A♥ K♦.

The board ran out K♥ 10♠ 9♠ 4♣ 2♥, pairing Hunt’s king. Despite starting behind, he won the pot with a pair of kings. His stack climbed to 406,000, while Dieu Thi’s remained unchanged at 1,000,000. Hunt’s underdog victory eliminated Thi from contention, securing his place in the next stage of the tournament.

The win propelled Hunt deeper into the high-stakes event, boosting his chip count significantly. His unexpected triumph against a stronger hand became one of the standout moments of the 2025 PokerGO Cup. Thi, meanwhile, left the table with no change to their stack.
