TU Braunschweig Kicks Off Busy Autumn Semester With Welcome Events, Conferences, and Academic Achievements

TU Braunschweig is gearing up for a busy autumn semester, with a packed schedule of events, academic achievements, and staff updates. The staff assembly, counting as working time, will take place in Lecture Hall SN 19.1 (Old Building).

The university kicks off the semester with a central welcome event for first-year students on October 20 at Eintracht Stadium, followed by an info fair and Welcome Week for international students starting a week earlier. This event coincides with German Unity Day on October 3, marking the 35th anniversary of reunification.

TU Braunschweig is also hosting the 64th German Plant Protection Conference from October 7 to 10, themed 'Rethinking Plant Protection as a System'. Meanwhile, researchers from the university organized a successful two-week summer school in Douala, Cameroon, focusing on modern mathematical tools in mechanics.

The 'Solar System School', a joint graduate program in doctoral training with Göttingen, has around 200 students competing for spots each year. The Children's University, themed 'Recycling', starts on October 25 for children aged 8 to 12, with registrations still open.

In academic news, TU Braunschweig ranked 9th in Germany for secured third-party funding per professor in 2023, with an average of €588,800. Notably, the Technische Universität Hamburg received the third-largest amount.

The next staff assembly will be held on October 9, where employees can learn about updates on parking management and mobile work. Agenda suggestions can be submitted via email. As the semester progresses, TU Braunschweig continues to foster academic excellence and engage with its community.
