Tsleil-Waututh Nation acquires Vancouver’s Hastings Casino in landmark deal

The Tsleil-Waututh Nation, a First Nation band government in British Columbia, has purchased the Hastings Casino in Vancouver from Great Canadian Entertainment. The sale, which includes the casino's business and related real estate, is subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions.

The Hastings Racecourse & Casino, featuring 400 slot machines, table games, a poker room, and a sports lounge, will now be under the ownership of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN). This sale follows Great Canadian Entertainment's trend of divesting its BC casino properties, with several transactions to BC First Nations in recent times. The finalization of this deal awaits approval from the City of Vancouver and other regulatory bodies.

The Tsleil-Waututh Nation, also known as the People of the Inlet, has expanded its business portfolio with the acquisition of Hastings Casino. The deal, once finalized, will grant TWN control over a significant gaming and entertainment establishment in Vancouver.
