Talisay Chamber Unveils 2026 Plan to Empower MSMEs Through Growth and Resilience
The Talisay Chamber of Commerce and Industry has set its sights on bolstering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in 2026. Chamber president Carl Cabusas called the outlook for the year 'cautiously optimistic—but action-oriented', indicating a shift from recovery to targeted growth.
The chamber’s priorities for 2026 include expanding mentorship programs, business education, and access to professional networks for MSMEs. These efforts aim to assist smaller firms in scaling up despite ongoing hurdles like high power costs, logistics expenses, and limited funding.
2025 served as a year of recalibration for Cebu’s economy, with many businesses moving away from rapid expansion towards sustainability and efficiency. The chamber now expects selective growth, driven by companies investing in resilience, workforce skills, and digital tools. To support this, the organization plans to take a more active role in advocacy and collaboration. Partnerships with local governments, national agencies, and practical problem-solving for members will be key. The goal is to foster inclusive, locally grounded growth, with MSMEs contributing more to job creation and regional development.
The chamber’s 2026 strategy focuses on practical support for MSMEs, from mentorship to policy engagement. If successful, these measures could help smaller businesses overcome persistent challenges and play a larger role in Cebu’s economic progress.
