Swiss businesses embrace child-free zones amid rising noise complaints

Switzerland is witnessing an increase in child-free zones across businesses, from hotels to campsites. Complaints about noise and unsupervised children have prompted stricter age policies in several locations. The trend is now spreading to include the country’s first adults-only campsite.

One of the latest changes comes from Lazy Rancho, a campsite near Interlaken. Due to persistent issues with noise and disruptive behavior from unsupervised children, it will reopen in spring 2026 as Switzerland’s first adults-only campsite. The first season under this new policy begins in March 2026.

The introduction of adults-only policies mirrors a growing preference for quieter, child-free environments in Swiss hospitality. Businesses implementing these rules report improved guest experiences and smoother operations. The changes are anticipated to continue as more establishments consider similar restrictions.
