Swedish regulator fines Kanon Gaming for irresponsible online gambling practices

Sweden's gambling industry has witnessed significant growth recently. Kanon Gaming Limited has received a fine and warning from the Swedish Gambling Authority (Spelinspektionen) due to carelessness in their games. Meanwhile, Camilla Rosenberg, the Director General of Spelinspektionen, is stepping down, and a dip in the channelization rate has been observed.

Spelinspektionen, under the leadership of Camilla Rosenberg, has been actively monitoring the online games sector. They identified serious violations in Kanon Gaming's operations related to responsible gaming. The Swedish Administrative Court confirmed the penalty, initially set higher due to the severity and duration of the violations. However, considering Kanon Gaming's cooperation with the regulator, the final sanction was reduced to SEK 4.8m (around $510,000).

This incident occurs amidst a busy period for Sweden's games industry. Rosenberg's departure as Director General and a decrease in the channelization rate have added to the industry's dynamic landscape.
