Swedish poker stars dominate high-stakes European tournaments in 2025

Swedish poker players have made a strong showing in recent high-stakes tournaments. Three Swedes competed in the latest events, with notable finishes in both the Kings of Tallinn and the No Filter Poker Series. Their performances have drawn attention to the growing influence of Swedish talent in European poker.

Johan Karlsson secured victory in the 2020 Kings of Tallinn €1,100 Main Event. His win highlighted Swedish success in the tournament, which has since become a key fixture in the poker calendar.

The 2025 No Filter Poker Series €1,100 Main Event saw Jan Risberg finish as runner-up. The series, founded by Swedish player Mounir Tajiou, has quickly gained recognition. Tajiou himself also took second place in the 2025 Kings of Tallinn €1,100 Main Event, reinforcing Sweden's presence in major competitions.

Meanwhile, a separate €555 No-Limit Hold'em one-day event attracted 36 participants. Though details about the broader field remain limited, the focus stays on the standout performances from Swedish competitors.

The recent results confirm Sweden's growing reputation in European poker. With wins and high placements across multiple tournaments, Swedish players continue to feature prominently. The No Filter Poker Series, in particular, has emerged as a platform where their skills are on full display.
