Secure Transition from School to Work - Signing of the OloV Strategy by 2028
A renewed cooperation agreement has extended the OloV career orientation strategy in Hesse until the end of 2028. The initiative aims to smooth the transition from school to work for young people across the region. Local partners have committed to long-term collaboration, with plans to continue beyond the current timeline.
The OloV strategy focuses on improving career guidance and apprenticeship placements in Hesse. It seeks to eliminate inefficiencies, ensuring students find suitable training without unnecessary delays. General education schools now embed career orientation events into their programmes, helping pupils assess their skills and explore vocational options.
On the ground, a local OloV working group coordinates efforts between students, businesses and parents. The initiative is backed by funding from the Hessian state government, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the Ministry of Education, supported by European Union resources. Key organisations have formally signed the agreement, including the District Committee of Marburg-Biedenkopf, the City Council of Marburg, and the local Employment Agency. While earlier details from 2021 remain unclear, current documents highlight active forums and strategies planned for 2025. The partnership aims to maintain high-quality transitions into the workforce, avoiding overlapping structures and streamlining support.
The extended agreement secures the OloV strategy’s future through 2028, with provisions for further collaboration. Regional stakeholders will continue working together to strengthen apprenticeship opportunities and career guidance. The initiative relies on coordinated efforts between schools, local authorities, and employment services to achieve its goals.
