Sauercrowd Sets Date for Epic Molten Core Raid After Months of Delays
Sauercrowd, a World of Warcraft Classic guild, has locked in a date for its long-awaited Molten Core raid. The event will take place on Sunday, February 22, at 3:00 PM, after months of preparation and delays. Originally, the goal was to bring together as many players as possible—both veterans and newcomers—for a single, massive attempt at the raid.
The project began with a plan to gather 40 players for a coordinated run. But setbacks, including a major crisis where a single mistake forced three high-level members to restart, wiped out hundreds of hours of progress. Despite this, the guild has now confirmed the raid will go ahead as scheduled, putting to rest fears that it might be abandoned due to the upcoming Burning Crusade expansion.
With over 100 players already at level 60 and another 20-25 expected to reach it soon, Sauercrowd is now considering running two or even three raid groups. However, this depends on having enough tanks, healers, and experienced leaders who know the tactics thoroughly. Certain classes, like Paladins, are essential for their unique buffs, so each group must include them.
Guild leader Metashi stressed the importance of safety and preparation, aiming to give every group a real chance of clearing the raid. The event itself is expected to last between five and eight hours, allowing everyone to participate without rushing.
The Molten Core raid will proceed on February 22, with no further delays. Sauercrowd's focus remains on ensuring each group has the right balance of roles and experience. If successful, this could mark one of the largest coordinated raids in WoW Classic before the expansion arrives.
