Salomon Unveils Game-Changing Gear for 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics

Salomon has taken centre stage as a premium partner of the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics and Paralympics. The brand recently unveiled a series of innovations, from high-performance gear to adaptive solutions for para-athletes. A major immersive event also highlighted its commitment to pushing boundaries in winter sports.

In the lead-up to the Games' opening ceremony, Salomon hosted Shaping New Futures: A Salomon Experience. The event showcased the brand's heritage of innovation, including its latest high-performance designs and iconic styles. Among the highlights was the S/Lab Equipe collection, representing the pinnacle of winter sports performance.

The brand also presented the S/Lab Phantasm 3, a running shoe co-developed with aerodynamics experts Swiss Side. Salomon claims the shoe can shave up to 18 seconds off an elite marathon time. Beyond performance gear, the company designed the official uniforms for Olympic and Paralympic volunteers, workforce members, and torchbearers.

A key focus was the adaptive project for para-athletes, developed in collaboration with JΓ©rΓ΄me Bernard and Airbus over several years. This initiative reflects Salomon's values by creating prosthetic solutions and adaptive equipment through a network of athletes and designers. The project aims to improve accessibility and performance in winter sports for disabled competitors.

Organisational changes have also marked a new direction for the brand. Following the departure of Scott Mellin, Salomon appointed Heikki Salonen as its first creative director, with Laura Herbst joining as studio director. Mellin, the former global chief brand officer, had previously emphasised the brand's shift toward purpose-driven innovation.

Salomon's latest moves reinforce its role as a leader in winter sports innovation. The brand's adaptive equipment, high-performance gear, and immersive experiences set the stage for its involvement in the 2026 Games. With new leadership and a focus on inclusivity, the company continues to shape the future of athletic performance.
