Russian police dismantle underground gambling ring after two-year operation

Police in Vladimir Region have shut down an illegal gambling ring operating since late 2021. The group ran gaming machines first in Strunino before shifting to a private dacha in Alexandrovsky District. Five people now face charges for their involvement in the scheme.

The operation started in December 2021 when organisers set up gaming machines in a basement in Strunino. They later relocated the equipment to a dacha in Alexandrovsky District, restricting access to invited players only.

During a raid, authorities seized over twenty pieces of gambling equipment. Investigators identified five individuals responsible for running the operation. Among them was the ringleader, who had previously been convicted for similar offences.

The case has led to formal charges against all five suspects. Confiscated equipment will remain in police custody as evidence. Authorities continue to monitor illegal gambling activities in the region.
