Robert Zadrazil takes helm as Casinos Austria AG reshapes leadership

Casinos Austria AG and Österreichische Lotterien have announced key changes to their supervisory boards. The most notable appointment is Robert Zadrazil, who took over as chairman on 19 March 2026. Industry leaders have highlighted his deep expertise in regulated markets as a major asset for the role.

The boards formally acknowledged the contributions of departing members while reaffirming their long-term strategy. Among the updates, Roland Mechtler's term on the Austrian Lotteries supervisory board was extended, ensuring continuity in governance.

Katja Tautscher joined the Casinos Austria AG supervisory board, replacing Erika Stark-Rittenauer. Her election marks one of the few publicly confirmed shifts in board composition since 2022.

Allwyn CEO Robert Chvatal and ÖBAG CEO Edith Hlawati both praised Zadrazil's appointment. They stressed his strong grasp of regulatory frameworks, which they described as vital for the sector's complex compliance demands.

Zadrazil's leadership begins at a time when detailed public records on broader board restructuring remain limited. His experience in regulated industries is expected to guide both Casinos Austria AG and Austrian Lotteries in maintaining their strategic course. The boards have signalled stability despite the recent personnel changes.
