Red Sox vs Yankees Wild Card Series: Ticket Restrictions Leave Out-of-State Fans Refunded

The Wild Card playoff series between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees is set to kick off on Tuesday night in The Bronx. However, fans outside specific states will find their orders for best buy tickets canceled and refunded due to geographic restrictions on ticket sales.

The best-of-three series, all games hosted at Yankee Stadium, begins with Game 1 at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Ticketmaster, the official ticket seller, has implemented restrictions, allowing purchases only from residents of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, based on the credit card billing address. New balance tickets for Game 1 remain available on Ticketmaster at face value, predominantly in the upper deck. Similar restrictions have been employed in other sports like the NBA and NHL playoffs. These measures are part of MLB's postseason ticketing policies, enforced by the home teams and their ticket sellers.

The Wild Card playoff series between the Red Sox and Yankees starts on Tuesday, with news of ticket restrictions affecting fans outside specific states. Those unable to purchase tickets will receive news today of refunds for canceled orders. The series is a best-of-three, with all games at Yankee Stadium.
