Pure Poker Tour's 2026 Main Event begins with 1,247 players chasing glory
The Pure Poker Tour's first No-Limit Hold'em Main Event of 2026 kicks off on Friday, March 6 at 1 PM. A total of 1,247 players have registered, with late entries accepted until Level 10 at 8:15 PM that evening. The competition promises high stakes as Pav Braich chases a historic third straight victory in the event.
Day 1 will run for nine levels, each lasting 40 minutes, before registration closes. Players begin with 40,000 chips, and the action continues until only 12.5% of the field remains—roughly 320 competitors by the end of Day 1A. Those who survive will all secure a payout on Day 2.
Participants can enter Day 1b even if they've already bagged chips on Day 1a. If they do, they'll carry forward their largest stack to Day 2. Braich, aiming to match Eric Wasylenko's record of three consecutive Main Event wins, will face stiff competition in the expanded field. The tournament structure allows for deep play, with blinds increasing gradually. Organisers expect a long session before the money bubble bursts, ensuring a tense and strategic battle for survival.
With 1,247 entrants and a prize pool already guaranteed, the event sets the stage for intense poker over the coming days. Braich's bid for a third title adds extra drama, while the flexible re-entry rules give players multiple chances to build a winning stack. The final table will emerge only after Day 2's play concludes.
