PLO Main Event starts Thursday with $1,500 buy-in and bigger stakes

The PLO Main Event kicks off on Thursday at 1 PM, marking a shift from last year’s smaller $450 tournament. This year’s competition features a $1,500 buy-in and a starting stack of 50,000 chips. All remaining players will secure a payout by the end of Day 2.

Registration opens at 1 PM on Thursday, with late entry allowed until 8 PM—just before Level 10 begins. Players will compete for seven hours, with blinds increasing every 40 minutes. The field will be reduced to just 12.5% of its original size before chips are bagged for the night.

The PLO Main Event offers a larger prize pool than its predecessor, with a structured schedule to accommodate late entries. Players advancing past Day 2 will leave with earnings, while the tournament’s updated format aims to attract both seasoned pros and ambitious newcomers.
