Pechora Winter Games 2026 crowns young champions in sports and creativity
The Pechora Winter Games 2026 recently took place in Pechora, bringing together young competitors from across the region. Organised to support Russia's Youth and Children national project, the event aimed to develop talent through friendly competition in sports, creativity, and teamwork. Eight teams, including participants from local enterprises and guests from Kajerom, competed over two days. The first day's events were held at Building No. 1 of the Pechora Industrial and Economic Technical College. On the second day, activities shifted to the Byzovaya Ethnocultural Park.
The festival featured challenges in four main areas: Sports, Tourism, Creative, and Intellectual. Before the contests began, Natalia Panshina, director of the technical college, welcomed the teams and urged them to tackle each task with confidence. Oleg Shutov, head of the Pechora Municipal District, also spoke to the participants, highlighting how such events strengthen youth bonds and encourage healthy living. After two days of competition, *StarPertsy* claimed first place, with *Amperes* finishing second and *IK-49* in third. The games were jointly organised by the Pechora Municipal District Administration, the Republic of Komi's Ministry of Youth Policy, and the Pechora Industrial and Economic Technical College.
