Osnabrück Art Prize 2026 Opens Submissions for Local Creators
The Osnabrück Art Prize 2026 has opened for submissions, offering artists a chance to showcase their work in a major exhibition. Organised by the Osnabrück Museum and Art Association, this marks the sixth time the prize will be awarded. Local creators now have until March 31, 2026, to apply for the competition.
Applications for the prize will be accepted from February 1, 2026, through the official website, muk-os.de/kunstpreis-osnabrueck. Eligible artists must live or work in Osnabrück city or its surrounding district. The jury, whose members are listed on the site, will review submissions in painting, graphic art, sculpture, photography, installation, and visual media.
Finalists will be chosen for an exhibition at the Cultural History Museum, running from September 27, 2026, to February 21, 2027. The main prize includes €10,000, while an additional €2,000 will go to an emerging artist. Backed by the Sievert Foundation for Science and Culture, the award aims to boost the region’s cultural identity and support its creative community.
The Osnabrück Art Prize continues its tradition of highlighting local talent. Selected works will be displayed in a months-long exhibition, giving artists visibility and recognition. The competition also reinforces cultural ties within the Osnabrück region.
