Nuremberg's Christkindlesmarkt Tops European Christmas Markets

The festive season is upon us, and with it, the opening of Europe's most enchanting Christmas markets. Time Out magazine has ranked the Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt as the best in Europe, drawing visitors from across the globe, including those flying direct from London thanks to British Airways.

The Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt, held annually from November 28 to Christmas Eve, takes over the Hauptmarkt and surrounding streets and squares in Nuremberg's Old Town. This year, it's not the only German-speaking market to make the top 20. Leipzig, another city in Germany, also secured a spot in the ranking.

Other notable markets include Vienna's Rathausplatz, Lucerne's market in Switzerland, and those in Aachen and Düsseldorf. Meanwhile, Munich's markets may not have made the European top 20, but they are set to open soon, offering their own unique charm. Time Out also highlights markets in Bruges, Colmar, and Seville as some of Europe’s finest.

With the Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt leading the way, Christmas markets across Europe are gearing up to welcome visitors with their festive cheer, traditional treats, and, of course, the renowned drinks that make these markets a must-visit during the Advent season.
