Nike revives Ronaldinho’s legendary ‘Touch of Gold’ Tiempo boot for 2025

Nike is bringing back the iconic 'Touch of Gold' Tiempo Legend boot in 2025. This special edition marks the 20th anniversary of Ronaldinho’s legendary 2005 advert—the first YouTube video to hit one million views. The re-release honours the Brazilian star’s influence on the boot’s legacy and Nike’s football heritage.

The Tiempo Legend line first launched in 1984 but gained worldwide fame during the 1994 World Cup. Its reputation for control and craft grew even stronger after Ronaldinho’s 2005 'Touch of Gold' campaign. That ad not only showcased his skill but also cemented the boot’s status in football culture.

The 2025 edition stays true to the original design. It features white leather with metallic gold accents, a diamond-quilted toebox, and gold stitching. The fold-over tongue still carries the 10R logo, a nod to Ronaldinho’s iconic number. This time, Nike is offering two versions: a Firm Ground boot for pitches and a lifestyle sneaker for everyday wear.

Nike Football chose to revive the design as a tribute to Ronaldinho’s playing genius. The 20th anniversary of the original ad provided the perfect moment to celebrate his impact on the game and the boot’s enduring appeal.
