Nicholas Lee clinches fourth WSOP-C ring with Mini Main Event triumph

Nicholas Lee has claimed his fourth WSOP-C ring, this time at the Mini Main Event in Calgary. The victory, his second in a year, came after a patient and strategic game that saw him dominate the final table and overcome a spirited challenge from runner-up Kezheng Peng.

Lee, known for his calculated play, held the big stack for much of the final table. He waited for the right spots to win, ultimately prevailing in a heads-up cooler against Peng. The final hand saw Lee make a flush on the river, securing his victory.

Peng, despite his boisterous and fun demeanor, put up a strong fight. Lee started the final confrontation with a 3:1 lead but had to come back from behind, outmaneuvering Peng's aggressive play. Earlier in the tournament, Lee won a significant pot with a gutshot to the low end of an 8-high straight on the turn, demonstrating his skill and adaptability.

Lee's win in Calgary adds another WSOP-C ring to his collection, his first outside of January and his second in a year. His earnings from this win are expected to push him up to about $560k. The Mini Main Event, with a full prize list available, saw Lee's strategic play and patience rewarded with a hard-fought victory.
