MSPT Season 17 heats up in Colorado with a $300K Main Event on the horizon
The Major Series of Poker: The Tour (MSPT) has reached its third stop of Season 17 in Colorado. Players are competing at Bally’s Black Hawk as part of the ongoing Showdown Series, which runs through this weekend. Among the highlights so far, Danny Gonzales secured his first MSPT Gold Card with a win in the $400 Mini Main Event.
The MSPT Season 17 kicked off with events across multiple states, including Ohio, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Future stops will take players to Minnesota, Indiana, Michigan, California, and Nevada before the season concludes.
The current Colorado event has already crowned several winners. Zach Gutierrez, Josh Edgell, and Leo Bernal each took first place in their respective side events. Meanwhile, former MSPT Player of the Year Kyna England is among the attendees at this stop. Up next is the $1,110 buy-in, $300,000 guaranteed MSPT Main Event. It begins with three starting flights on January 22, 23, and 24, followed by Day 2 on January 25. After Colorado, the tour moves to Arizona for the $1,000,000 guaranteed Diamond Poker Championship at Talking Stick Resort, running from January 24 to February 1. The season will then peak with the $1,600 buy-in, $1,000,000 guaranteed Poker Bowl X at the Venetian Las Vegas from February 4 to 7.
The MSPT’s Colorado stop wraps up this weekend with the Showdown Series at Bally’s Black Hawk. Winners like Danny Gonzales have already claimed prizes, while the upcoming Main Event and Diamond Poker Championship will draw further competition. The tour continues with high-stakes tournaments across the US in the coming weeks.
