Move Over Vegas! This East Coast Alternative Is Perfect For Fall And Half The Price

Atlantic City is shaping up as an affordable autumn getaway for travellers seeking entertainment without the high costs of Las Vegas. Known as the East Coast’s answer to Sin City—though on a smaller scale—the resort town offers lower prices, fewer crowds, and seasonal events in October. With a daily average spend of just $154 per person, it’s half the price of a comparable trip to Nevada’s gambling hub.

Visitors can take advantage of budget-friendly stays at well-known hotels. A two-night booking at the 3-star Boardwalk Resorts At Atlantic Palace costs $318, working out to $79.50 per person per night. For a step up in luxury, the 4-star Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City Hotel and Casino charges $404 for two nights, or $101 per person per night.

Getting around is easy and inexpensive. The city provides a free shuttle service, while jitney rides cost just $3. Those driving in will find Atlantic City conveniently located—a two-hour trip from New York or just one hour from Philadelphia. October brings a packed calendar of events. Food lovers can enjoy Restaurant Week from October 6 to 11, with 55 eateries offering 3-course lunches for $20.24 and dinners for $40.24. Sports enthusiasts can join the Atlantic City marathon on October 19-20. Later in the month, the Monster Bash in Historic Smithville features a Zombie Walk on October 26.

The cooler autumn weather, reduced crowds, and lower prices make October an ideal time to explore Atlantic City. With a mix of dining deals, sporting events, and themed festivities, the city provides a range of activities for a fraction of the cost of similar destinations. Travellers can enjoy a full experience without overspending.
