Monheim's New State-Licensed Casino Opens With Week-Long Celebrations
Monheim has welcomed a new state-licensed casino, marking a major boost for the region. The 4,800-square-metre venue opened its doors with a week-long celebration from May 11 to 17. Officials describe it as a modern, guest-focused entertainment hub with round-the-clock gaming and live events.
The casino is the fifth state-licensed Merkur Spielbank in North Rhine-Westphalia. It joins existing locations across the region, with a sixth—Merkur Spielbank Siegburg—planned for autumn 2026. This latest addition employs over 150 staff and operates daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 AM.
Inside, visitors find jackpot machines, slot games, and 15 tables for roulette, blackjack, and poker. Two bars and a dedicated event space host live shows, ensuring a varied entertainment experience. David Schnabel, managing director of Merkur Spielbanken NRW, highlighted the venue's focus on modern design and guest satisfaction. The grand opening was celebrated during 'Winner Week,' running from May 11 to 17. More details about the casino, including its offerings and operating hours, are available at www.spielbank-monheim.de.
The casino is set to become a key economic driver for Monheim. Its mix of gaming, live entertainment, and extended hours positions it as a major leisure destination. With over 150 jobs created, the venue also strengthens the local employment market.
