Mini Main Event nears 1,800 entries with record-breaking prize pool
The Mini Main Event is shaping up to be a record-breaking affair. Despite the tournament director's name and the final player count remaining unknown, the event is on track to surpass 1,800 entries by Saturday's close. Flight 1b has seen a significant increase in entries, with 425 players registered. This is nearly 100 more than the January 4-Flight total after two flights. If the unofficial entry number holds, 64 players from Flight 1b will secure a share of the prizes, which currently stand at over $231,000. At least 21 players from Flight 1b are expected to advance to Day 2. Entries for the first two flights are now closed, and the total field number has already surpassed 700 players. The Mini Main Event is set to conclude with a potentially record-breaking field size. With the entry numbers and prize pool increasing, the event is attracting a substantial number of players, despite the unknowns surrounding the tournament director's identity and the final player count.
