Melbourne Millions poker series launches with $500K Main Event guarantee
A new poker series has arrived in Melbourne with the launch of the Melbourne Millions. Organised by PlayLive, the event fills the gap left by the Aussie Millions’ schedule shift to late April 2026. The tournament is already attracting large crowds to its venue, just a short walk from Crown Casino.
PlayLive, a recently opened poker room, introduced the Melbourne Millions in January. The series features a $1,500 buy-in Main Event with a $500,000 prize guarantee. Day 1B kicks off on January 25, while Day 1C follows on the next Sunday.
Other highlights include a $5,000 High Roller on January 26 and a $1,150 Mega Mystery Bounty on January 28. Players can also qualify through daily satellites starting at $90. The event is streamed live on PlayLive’s YouTube channel. Full schedules and weekly updates are available on the company’s website. Among its co-owners are Alex Foxen, Jeremy Ausmus, Eric Baldwin, and Abby Merk, alongside co-founders Josh Abady and Bridges Robinson Roe. The Aussie Millions, meanwhile, will return in 2026 after a six-year absence. Unlike its usual January slot, the tournament will now take place in late April.
The Melbourne Millions offers multiple ways to compete, from affordable satellites to high-stakes events. With live coverage and a central location, the series has quickly become a focal point for poker players. The shift in the Aussie Millions schedule has opened the door for PlayLive’s tournament to grow in popularity.
