Manchester United Fans Urged to Donate Coats for Local Families in Need

Manchester United Foundation is appealing to fans to donate clean adult and child coats at Old Trafford. The initiative aims to support local families in need this winter, with donations accepted during upcoming games against Brighton & Hove Albion and the women's UEFA Champions League fixture against Paris Saint-Germain. Fans can donate from 90 minutes before kick-off until the first whistle.

The Foundation, led by Manchester United, is requesting donations for the men's game against Brighton & Hove Albion on 25 October and the women's UEFA Champions League fixture against Paris Saint-Germain on 12 November. Fans can donate clean adult and child coats at Old Trafford during these games, with all donations going towards helping those in need this winter.

Last year alone, over 4,250 coats were donated through this appeal, with recipients including those accessing Foundation projects, partner schools, and identified poverty charities in Manchester. John Shiels, CEO of Manchester United Foundation, urges fans to help those less fortunate, especially with another challenging winter ahead. The Foundation positively impacted over 41,000 young lives in the 2024/25 season, operating in areas of highest social deprivation across Greater Manchester. New data from Loughborough University estimates that 38 per cent of children in Greater Manchester are living in poverty.

Manchester United Foundation's coat donation drive is a testament to the club's commitment to supporting local communities. Fans are encouraged to contribute clean adult and child coats at Old Trafford during the specified games, with all donations going towards helping those in need this winter.
