London's Kimpton Fitzroy Launches Heartfelt Christmas Campaign for Care Leavers
Kimpton Fitzroy London has launched its Christmas campaign, Never Wanted To Leave, to support young people leaving the UK care system. The initiative partners with Coram, the country's oldest children's charity, and invites guests to engage with a unique guestbook filled with first-person stories from care leavers. The campaign also encourages donations through festive bauble purchases.
The campaign kicked off on November 19 at the Bloomsbury hotel. At its heart is a reimagined guestbook, featuring personal accounts from care leavers, including contributions from Coram Voice. Actor Peter Capaldi has written a foreword for the book, urging readers to back Coram's mission.
Guests can add their own messages of support in the guestbook or donate by buying a £25 Christmas bauble. All proceeds will go to Coram, which helps around 12,000 young people transitioning out of care each year at 18.
Garreth Walsh, the hotel's general manager, highlighted the campaign's role in giving back to the local community. Dr. Carol Homden CBE, Coram's chief executive, praised the effort for amplifying care leavers' voices during a difficult time of year. The initiative is part of the hotel's wider Christmas celebrations, blending festive cheer with charitable action.
The Never Wanted To Leave campaign runs throughout the festive season at Kimpton Fitzroy London. Those interested in contributing can visit the hotel's website or contact them directly for details. The project aims to raise awareness and funds for young care leavers facing independence.
