Lithuanian poker pro Tomas Bulksas exits Irish Open in dramatic sixth-place finish

A high-stakes showdown at the 2024 Irish Poker Open Main Event saw Lithuanian player Tomas Bulksas finish in sixth place. The tournament, held in Dublin from February 15 to 18, featured a total prize pool of €1,100,000. Bulksas earned €9,500 after a dramatic final hand against fellow Lithuanian Mindaugas Grigaitis.

The decisive moment came when Bulksas, seated on the Button, moved all-in for 700,000 chips. Grigaitis, in the Big Blind, chose to call. Bulksas held A♦6♦, while Grigaitis had K♦Q♣.

The flop revealed 5♦5♠4♦, putting Bulksas ahead with a pair of fives and a diamond draw. The turn brought the 4♣, leaving his lead intact. But the river delivered a crushing K♠, giving Grigaitis a pair of Kings and eliminating Bulksas from the competition.

The hand secured Bulksas a sixth-place finish, with Grigaitis advancing further in the event.

Bulksas left the tournament with €9,500 in winnings. The clash between the two Lithuanian players marked one of the final key moments of the 2024 Irish Poker Open Main Event. The event concluded with a total prize distribution of €1,100,000 among the remaining competitors.
