Leslie Nielsen's bold flush crushes rival at PartyPoker Tour Sheffield

The 2026 PartyPoker Tour Sheffield is heating up as Day 1B draws to a close. Leslie Nielsen has climbed the leaderboard after a decisive hand against Crispin Rovere, leaving his opponent eliminated. With 144,000 chips, Nielsen now sits among the top five players in the tournament.

The action unfolded in Level 7, where blinds stood at 500/1,000 with a 1,000 ante. Crispin Rovere opened from UTG+1 with a 2,000 bet, and Leslie Nielsen, Alfie Darby, and Nicholas Georgiou all called. The flop came 10♦️ K♠️ 7♠️, and every player checked.

On the 6♦️ turn, Nielsen bet 3,000, prompting Darby to call while Georgiou folded. The 9♦️ river saw Rovere move all-in for his remaining 25,000, and Nielsen made the call. Rovere revealed 8♥️ 8♣️ for a straight, but Nielsen held A♦️ J♦️, completing a nut flush. The win sent all of Rovere's chips to Nielsen, boosting his stack to 144,000.

Nielsen had already finished Day 1B with 128,000 chips, placing 15th overall. Now, with this latest victory, he is poised to enter the next stage as one of the chip leaders. The tournament currently has 111 entries out of 143, competing for a guaranteed £40,000 prize pool.

Rovere's elimination leaves Nielsen with a commanding stack, likely securing him a top-five position. The remaining players will now adjust to the shifting dynamics as the event progresses. With the prize pool locked in, the competition is set to intensify in the coming rounds.
