LeBron James confirms return for historic 23rd NBA season despite injury setback
LeBron James is already preparing for his 23rd NBA season despite a recent injury. The Los Angeles Lakers star, who hinted at retirement this summer, has now confirmed he will play at least one more year. Meanwhile, Serbian defender Alex Avramovich faces a long recovery after a physiotherapist’s mistake worsened his knee injury in Dubai.
James suffered a left knee ACL sprain during the 2025 playoffs. Though still recovering, he has begun restricted training at the Lakers’ facility. His team has been asked to handle his preparation with caution.
James will return for a historic 23rd NBA season, though his training remains limited due to injury. Avramovich, however, will miss a significant part of the upcoming season after the physiotherapist’s error extended his recovery time. Both players now focus on rehabilitation before their next campaigns.
