Kriens Celebrates Agricultural Heritage with Brown Swiss Show

Kriens, the second-largest city in Lucerne canton, celebrated its agricultural heritage with the annual Brown Swiss show and farmers' festival. Over 100 animals paraded from the Kriensertal pastures to the city center, showcasing the region's rich farming tradition.

The event offered high-level competition, opportunities for encounters, and a special Chälbi competition for children. President of the Municipal Council Zita Bucher and City Councilor Marco Frauenknecht played a significant role, presenting the ribbon to the winning cow.

The jury selected 'Delsa', a cow from the area behind Schwändi in Obernau, as the 'Miss Kriensertal'. Breeders Christian and Sandra Portmann were overjoyed with their cow's success. 'Delsa' stood out among the 100 animals, demonstrating the quality of Kriens' Brown Swiss cattle.

The Brown Swiss show and farmers' festival in Kriens not only celebrate the city's agricultural heritage but also serve as a platform for local farmers to showcase their hard work and dedication. This year, 'Delsa' took the spotlight, winning the title of 'Miss Kriensertal' and bringing pride to her breeders.
