Kiwanis Club of Solingen Distributes 92 Winter Coats to Children in Need

The Kiwanis Club of Solingen has launched its 'Gift of Warmth' campaign for the 15th time, distributing 92 brand-new, warm winter coats to children in Solingen. The club, dedicated to supporting local youth, has grown this initiative since its inception in 2011.

The campaign began humbly in 2011 with just eight jackets. Now, it ensures that no child goes cold this winter, providing not just material support, but also promoting social skills and violence prevention. The club's around 35 dedicated members work under the motto 'Kiwanis – for strong children in Solingen'.

The 'Gift of Warmth' is organized in collaboration with Kevin Gottula of the City of Solingen, who helps identify recipients. Joachim Blümer, the club's president, leads this cherished tradition, which has expanded each year. The club's projects are locally focused and designed for long-term impact, prioritizing children who may not have life's advantages on their side. The club plans to continue growing the project through membership fees, donations, and charity events.
