Kazakhstan’s Konaev eyes new online casino projects despite strict gambling laws
Under current legislation, online casinos can legally operate only in Almaty and Nur-Sultan (Astana). Outside these zones, online gambling businesses are banned. Yet two large-scale project management initiatives are moving forward in Konaev, aiming to attract foreign tourists and boost local tourism.
The two new project management initiatives could significantly expand Konaev’s online casino infrastructure and increase tourist numbers. However, their progress depends on securing online casino licences and complying with Kazakhstan’s strict gambling laws. If approved, the venues would mark a notable shift in the country’s tightly regulated online casino sector.
